Why We Created the UIS Risk Rating
The core problem with buy-and-hold investing is that it offers no protection when a bear market strikes. A single crash can wipe out years of gains and take years to recover. Traditional technical indicators react only after the fall has begun, leaving traders with no time to act.
The UIS Risk Rating was developed and tested over a 25+ year period — back to 1997 — to solve this. By tracking company earnings forecasts rather than lagging price data, the rating identifies fundamental deterioration before it shows up in the index, giving subscribers advance warning to reduce risk or hedge.
The UIS Risk Rating has flagged every major S&P500 bear market since 1997 with at least one month's warning.
